Cost structures are the dollar amounts assigned to violations, as well as the increased amount (if applicable) on late violations.
Step 1:
Under Settings > Violation > Cost Structures, click New Cost Structure.
Step 2:
Create a base cost (the initial cost of the violation). You can then add overdue tiers which will change the cost of your violation based on a predetermined number of days.
Note: if you provide an overdue tier, this will be the main cost shown on the violation. The base cost will show as "If paid within 7 days, cost is $50.00". This gives an incentive to the users to pay sooner rather than later.
In the above example the base cost = $50.00. If the violation is paid within 7 days the cost will be $50.00. After 7 days the cost of the violation will rise to $75.00. After 14 days the cost of the violation will rise to $100.00
The cost of the first violation printed on the invoice will be $75.00, however, the violation will state that the cost will only be $50.00 if paid within 7 days. Other overdue tiers will not be reflected on the invoice.
The new price will be reflected in the system when the overdue tier is reached.
You can add up to 3 overdue tiers.
